Hot Spots, also called “acute moist dermatitis,” are areas on the skin that can become inflamed, raw, infected and itchy. DERMagic Hot Spot Salve is a concentrated formulation of our Skin Rescue Lotion. This fresh-smelling salve is formulated with the same natural and organic ingredients, including aloe vera gel, vitamin E, rosemary essential oil, sesame oil and lanolin, which helps the salve adhere to the skin.

This ointment is specifically for oozing hot spots and itchy or inflamed areas, such as insect bites and localized allergic reactions. Apply a small amount of DERMagic Hot Spot Salve topically once or twice daily until symptoms disappear. Always keep DERMagic nearby for small bites or cuts to reduce infections. Note: If treating a large area or if your dog suffers from black skin or hair loss, use the Skin Lotion and not the Hot Spot Salve.

For best results:

  1. Cut the hair around the hot spot or wound before applying the ointment.
  2. Dab a small amount of DERMagic Hot Spot Salve directly on the wound.
  3. Keep the area covered with a sock or T-shirt to protect against licking. This product contains nothing harmful or toxic that could harm your pet in case of ingestion.
  4. Reapply DERMagic Hot Spot Salve once or twice daily until symptoms disappear.
  5. We recommend keeping the affected area covered with a T-shirt or baby socks until it has healed or a hard scab has formed and the itching has stopped.
